Ice Cream Social
The first event of each school year is an Ice Cream Social, held on the last Thursday of August. This Open House allows new and returning families an opportunity to get to know one another before school begins each year. It also introduces new families and children to our teaching staff.
Halloween Party
Each year the school hosts a Halloween Party, which is coordinated by the parents of the school. This fun costume party is a family-friendly event held in the Pavilion on our property, and includes snacks, games, and activities.
Holiday Open House
On the last day of school before winter break, parents and other family members are invited to an Open House, where the children will show them around their classroom, demonstrate some of their work, and invite them to enjoy some punch and cookies.
Annual Parent-Teacher Conferences
Formal conferences are scheduled every January to discuss your child’s progress during the first half of the year, and to make plans and set goals for the second half of the year. Parents may request an informal conference at any time during the school year by contacting the director.
Chili Supper/Annual Fundraiser
This event is the school’s only fundraiser, and is held in March of each year. Current parents of the school provide the chili, as well as donated items for a Silent Auction. All former students of the school and their families are invited to this annual reunion, and there is usually a live auction for items made by the current students as the highlight of the evening.
Road Rally
Children are invited to participate in a Road Rally each April, when they may bring their hot wheels, tricycles, and bikes for a morning of fun on our parking lot. Parents and siblings are invited to participate in this event, and the school provides snacks for all.
Kindergarten Graduation/Potluck
The school hosts a potluck supper on the last Thursday night of the school year. This event features a short program to honor the year’s kindergarten graduates.
Pool Party
On the last day of each year the school holds an informal pool party on the lawn beside our patio, complete with wading pools, slip ‘n slides, and sprinkler fun. Parents and younger siblings are invited to enjoy this chance to say goodbye as well as kick off the summer fun.
Parent Meetings
In addition to our frequent family events, parent-only meetings are scheduled to address a variety of topics of interest several times during the year. Topics include “Introduction to Montessori” and “Sensitive Parenting,” among others.
